We have and are continuing to develop a range of SaaS (Software as a Service) apps and calculators. Our SaaS consultancy services have been created to support decision making around the selection of energy efficient and low carbon technologies as we transition to a Net Zero economy. We are also developing SaaS tools that promote and ensure compliance in the built environment.
As part of a key business strategy of becoming the most trusted carbon emission and energy reduction consultant, OMEGA Solutions have embarked on a journey into the world of Software as a Service (SaaS). We have a well-defined strategy and through working with partner organisations are delighted to immediately bring to market two insightful and invaluable Net Zero focussed apps that target the cold chain:
Cold Storage (distribution) Calculator
This simple to use app models the energy consumption, emissions, capital cost, maintenance cost, and total cost of ownership on a per kW basis for both frozen and cold storage. The app compares the named outputs above for all types of refrigeration system and refrigerants found in cold storage distribution centres.
Retail Refrigeration Calculator
This simple to use app models the energy consumption, emissions, capital cost, maintenance cost, and total cost of ownership on a per kW basis for both chilled and frozen display cabinets and back-of-house coldrooms. The app compares the named outputs for all types of refrigeration system and refrigerants found in retail refrigeration and has the added benefit of comparing the benefits of doored chilled display cabinets with open fronted variants.
In the coming months, OMEGA Solutions will be bringing to market further dynamic apps that focus on areas of compliance in refrigeration, and an integrated app that assesses the plethora of retail and commercial heating options as we decarbonise away from natural gas and less efficient electric heat sources.
We have further, longer-term complex SaaS apps and programmes under development that will be introduced later in 2023 and 2024.
Some of our SaaS apps will be free to use – specifically for end users to have the ability to make informed decisions, and some of our apps will be provided on a value proposition annual subscription basis.

- Identify best value green & sustainable technologies, their capital, operating & life-cycle costs and their emissions within the built environment.
